As required by Public Employees’ Pension Reform Act (PEPRA), public agency members hired on or after January 1, 2013 (PEPRA members / Tier 3) are subject to possible increases or decreases to their pension benefit contribution rate based on the results of the CalPERS annual actuarial valuations. Beginning with the July 1, 2023 pay period a PEPRA employee rate change will take effect.
For the 2023-2024 fiscal year (July 2023 – June 2024) the following employee contribution changes will be effectuated by CalPERS:
